Discipleship, being a follower of Jesus, is a journey that lasts throughout our lives.

"I do not claim that I have already succeeded or have already become perfect. I keep striving to win the prize for which Christ Jesus has already won me to himself." Philippians 3:12

And so our aspiration as individuals is to be able to say:-

My Life in Christ -  I am committed to following Jesus Christ. I have accepted Him as my Saviour. He is Lord, I am His disciple; and I want my thoughts, speech and actions to be under His control, according to the teaching of the Scriptures and through the work of the Holy Spirit.

My growth in Christ - My committed intention is to:-

- Read the Bible and pray frequently;
- Be part of church events, particularly on Sunday worship and small groups, whenever I can;
- Relate closely to other fellow members of the church growing in faith and service through mutual support;
- Live every part of my life to honour Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit.

My Part in Christ's Church - The church is the body of Christ, therefore:-

- It is my calling to love my brothers and sisters in Christ and to allow them to love me;
- I will be in fellowship with a local group of Christians is part of my discipleship to Christ;
- I will serve the church in at least one regular committed way;
- I aim to be a good witness for Christ and the church, in word and deed, whatever I do, wherever I am; and
- I will regularly consider carefully the use of my time, finances and abilities, all of which is provided by God, in order to serve Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Christ is with us, and promises His Spirit -  So that we can be sent into the world to serve, therefore:-

- I will pray for my family, my community, this nation and God's world;
- I will learn about and support the worldwide mission of the church, adopting at least one worker, cause or organisation; and
- I will aim to live as a Christian at work, whether paid or voluntary, in my home, neighbourhood and leisure activities.

Discipleship is a life-long process, so I expect to keep learning about God, the world, and myself until he welcomes me into heaven.
