14/1/2012 The first wedding of 2012 saw Claire Barber marry Philip Woolaston in front of a large congregation of family and friends. The term "Happy Couple" is a cliche but Claire and Phil really did look thrilled to be getting married. There was great music from the organist, the worship band and a string trio and as usual, the flower displays were beautiful. The service was conducted by the Minister, Rev Keith Neville. |

The week before Christmas has been fantastically busy at Foodbank at QRBC. In addition to serving a very large number of people with basic food parcels, we have also been distributing dozens of Christmas hampers to previous Foodbank users. Colin, Sue and Steve were part of the team sorting this out. The extra finance needed to provide this has come from the generosity of many people both within and outside the church.

Graham's work in our Meeting Place Cafe has been greatly appreciated. He has added to the menu and built up trade to a considerable extent. He has worked way beyond what could be reasonably expected and encouraged and developed the volunteers he has worked with. We shall miss him greatly. |

25/6/11 The Annual Church Cricket match took place on Tuesday 21st June and, for the first time, was being played for the Arnold Wilkins Memorial Cup. Arnold, who was a member of the church for several decades up to his death, was a huge cricket fan so this is an appropriate way in which to remember him.
The Cup was generously donated by Arnold's family and we were delighted that Arnold's daughter Pam was present to enjoy the match and present the trophy. For a photo report of proceedings,

The first Church Walk of the year took place on 9th April in glorious weather. |
 |
 |
Joint organiser Coral Lynes reports "From comments received, a good time was had by all who joined the 4 mile walk around the area of Hatton Locks. This included the three dogs who had their owners well trained! The weather was ideal and two canal boats passed through the locks at just the right time." |

The hottest day of the year seemed most appropriate to be transported to the warm climes of Italy as 47 people enjoyed the latest "Meet & Eat " tour. The volume of chatter emitting from the tables suggested a great time of fellowship was being enjoyed as well as an excellent 3 course Italian meal prepared by The Meeting Place Café Manager, Graham Edwards.
Brain cells were exercised thanks to Judith Brazier (below) who provided a quiz about Italy. A big thank you to the volunteers who served, washed up, cleared away - all with a smile and ensured everything ran smoothly. Thanks too to Stella and Jim who kept The Meeting Place Café open.
