Our History

The story of any church is a continuously unfolding series of events in which God and his people are involved.  Queens Road is a church with an unfolding future, but one that also recognises it has a past in which God has repeatedly revealed his purposes and nature.  Therefore we also believe it is important to look back, remeber and thank him for his faithfulness in the past.

Below are some links giving a very brief history of our congregation.

These pages were compiled using information gathered by Alan Betteridge, who oversees our historical archives.

For the full story of the history of the Church, see:

  • Clyde Binfield, "Pastors and People" (Queen's Road Baptist Church, Coventry, 1984. ISBN 0 950949 20 5).  A comprehensive history up until the later half of the last century; or
  • Irene Morris, "These Three Hundred Years" (London, 1926) for a briefer account of the earlier centuries.
