About Coventry

Coventry, situated in the heart of England, is a city with an ancient heritage, famous for its automotive, aerospace and textile industries and home to many established companies of world repute. Coventry’s manufacturing tradition has also attracted many high-tech companies, in turn creating increased opportunities and jobs for the city’s 320,000 population. There are, however, areas of urban deprivation.

The city has some fine examples of modern architecture, most notably the new cathedral designed by Sir Basil Spence which is the focus for tourism. Alongside the 20th century developments there are many examples of the city’s ancient past.

The city is home to the Universities of Warwick and Coventry, therefore having a large student population.
